Advanced Preventative Maintenance Inspection Training

The Utah Trucking Association is offering as part of their heavy vehicle technician training series an Advanced Preventative Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance Inspection course. This class will cover system-based inspections with an explanation of not just how, but why these checks are important. This is a two-day course with class room and hands-on instruction pertaining to real-world examples and situations that arise every day in the field. The instructor will provide a broad vision of today’s inter-connected vehicles. He will stress the importance of knowing how to find information and resources. The goal is to eliminate bad information from being circulated and to ensure that students have the most up to date resource materials.
Training will include:

- Axles and Wheel End
- Systems Connectivity
- Air Systems
- Starting and Charging
- Fifth Wheel
- Stability Control
- Collision Avoidance
- Federal and State Laws
This course will teach techniques that will lead to efficient and thorough inspections. The theme for both days is to emphasis safety and teamwork. Today’s trucks are too complex for any one person to be an expert, and our instructor will stress communication and collaboration among the technician’s peers.
