The 2014 Utah Truck Driving Championship will be held Friday & Saturday, June 6-7, 2014 at the Utah State FairPark.  Registration will be Friday, June 7th from   4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  This outstanding annual event is again sponsored and conducted by the Utah Safety Management Council.  Drivers will compete in written test, pre- trip inspections and a 6-problem driving course in the following categories: NO INTERVIEWS WILL BE HELD.

  • 4- Axle Semi Trailer
  • 5-Axle Semi Trailer Van
  • 5-Axle Semi Trailer Tank

The Champion, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category will be recognized, along with their companies at the UTA Annual Safety Awards Banquet on September 19, 2014, at Little America Hotel.  The champion in each category will compete at the 2014 National Truck Driving Championships to be held in Pittsburgh, PA – August 12-16, 2014

We are looking forward to next year’s convention which will be held May 6-8, 2015 at the Dixie Convention Center in St. George, Utah. This sure to be a great event with excellent vendors, informational educational sessions, and a multiple occasions to rub shoulders with others working in the trucking industry. He also participated as an HR Consultant to the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics. Todd was responsible for hiring 27,000 volunteers. Tom Christensen
One of Tom’s proudest moments was when he received a letter of recognition for a Good Samaritan Act on the road. Tom also claims that his greatest achievements are a happy 33 year marriage, 3 children and 4 grandchildren. When Tom arrives at work, he is often met at the door by another driver who has a question for him, Tom is always anxious to take the time to help. In 2009 he took 1st place in the tank division at the Utah State Driver Championship and went on to place 7th in the nation!
